How it all started...
The First Baptist Church of Pontotoc was Chartered in 1846, with the Church sanctuary having been completed in 1915 a full ten years before the first paved road in Pontotoc County. Since the Church's original Charter, the singular focus of the church has been spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Our strength is in the unity through the various ministries to focus on the Gospel. The Church is like a lighthouse guiding those who seek the Lord."

Reverence in Action...
First Baptist Church while honoring the history of our faith community desires to bring the Gospel to those around us in the modern era. First Baptist Church engages the Pontotoc community through outreach events, family night meals, and personal invitations.
Where we are headed...
We, as a church, are going to try to get as many people as possible into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to grow in their walk with the Lord.
"Desiring to leave no task left unfinished,
our church strives to spread the Gospel in Love."

"...But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
